Napping Transitions

I'm looking for info from you moms out there who have had your babies transition from two naps to one. Greta is kind of in that awkward in between state. Sometimes she will take a super long nap in the late am/early pm and sometimes she takes two short naps - one late am the other late pm. I'm not sure whether to keep her up longer in the morning to get her adjusted or just let her figure it out. I'd love it if she would transition out of her morning nap as this would open up some activities around town for us. The library and local chick-fil-a have tons of fun activities but all take place during her morning nap.

The transition from 2 to 1 took a while for Catherine--probably 2 to 3 months before she was really committed to just 1 nap a day. It was very frustrating for me to not know how to plan our day. She would do 1 nap for a day or two and then need a day with 2 naps to recover. My only advice is to just be patient and try to figure out what works best with your schedule. Good luck!

Kelly - I just lost a really LONG post to you. Arggh!
Anyway, to sum up, just jump in and give a new schedule a try. If you're away from home or want to be, maybe it won't faze her to miss a morning nap. Don't be afraid to experiment. Some children seem to need more sleep than others, but also many of them are a lot more flexible than we imagine or expect.
