- "When changing a little boy make sure to point"it" down when you get done, not up. If you point "it" up he'll pee out of his diaper every time."
Other interesting tidbits
- Our practice doll looked possessed.
- During the bath video the child they were washing that was supposed to represent a baby who was just beyond the umbilical cord falling off looked to be about 2 years old. The baby barely fit in the little tub they were using. I think people were paying more attention to how big the baby was and not how to bathe the baby.
- We had a local celebrity attend our class. I had heard one of the local newscasters was having a baby and the rumor was true because she was there with her mom.
- They only had 1 bathroom for about 15 pregnant women and their 3rd trimester. That is incredibly poor planning. Thankfully I sat near the door so I was able to get out quickly during the break.
- I felt very young in this class. There were several couples our age but there were quite a few who were knocking on 40 and all the couples in this class were having their first baby.

I guess you haven't heard of the pee pee teepees to use when changing a little boy??? Really baby girls can be almost as bad - they soak everything under them (hair included), whereas boys, spray everything in sight. It sounds like a fun class, whether you are learning anything or not.
Actually I have heard of the pee-pee teepees. Julie found some on eBay and we found them hilarious (although I'm sure they are very useful). I just never thought about the directionality of "it" mattering when you diapered a boy.
My parents' birth class had a player from the Steelers in it. I am not sure why they were in Huntsville at the time. Anyway, some Steelers player has a kid that is my age...
Why only one bathroom? That should be an obvious problem, while I was pregnant with Stephen there were 3 other ladies in my church pregnant at the same time and we always made a bee-line for the bathroom as soon as the service was done. :)
There was only one bathroom convenient to the classroom where they held the class. The only other one I knew of was 3 floors down. I'm guessing there were others on the floor we were on but the nurse never told us where they were. One would think if you worked with very pregnant women regularly you would remember how often they need to go and plan for that - either by having the classroom nearer to a larger bathroom OR by giving directions to alternate bathrooms.
