If I could read the itsy bitsy typing correctly, your bedroom is on the 2nd floor & babies room is on the 1st? I might consider having the baby closer to you for the first little bit, i.e. pac-n-play or bassinett or cradle in your room. One of our friends says that she has the kids in the room for a while, then they graduate to her closet, then to their upstairs nursery. Kate slept in her nursery the whole time, but her room is right across the hall from ours. We left our doors open and could hear her just fine. The only reason I mention it is to save your legs/energy/irritation when you are getting up so much during the night . This might especially be an issue immediately after birth, since you'll be sore already. If you do consider this, fix up your plan before you go to the hospital. I got paranoid our first night home from the hospital about Kate sleeping "so far away from me" and begged Josh to set up our pac-n-play in our bedroom. Suffice it to say, we couldn't figure out how the bassinett feature worked and we both lost our tempers! Not exactly the first night home we desired.
Ok, now if I am reading it correctly, it is a one story and that bit over to the side just shows an option -- that you DO have. Am I right? So the baby's room will be close. (I don't think I'd want to be on separate floors at the beginning either, mainly due to mama being sore as Liz said.)
Thanks for putting up the plan. The writing is kind of hard to read, but I think I got the general idea =)
Guys, it is one story- I have been there.:-) And it is a cute house!!
Sorry for the confusion. I tried to scan it in bigger but for some reason picasa doesn't want to show it that big. Yes the things on the side are the options that we have.
Ma bad. I see the trey ceiling which should have clued me in to a master bedroom. I was just looking for something that said Bedroom #1.
Elizabeth - here I thought you were an architect and skilled at reading blueprints! :-P I have a hard time with them myself. Fortunately Graham's sister is an Interior Design major and she is very good at interpreting them. I'm amazed how much drafting and such she has to do for her major. I didn't realize all the stuff that with into learning ID besides how to make rooms look good.
