Book Recommendations

Non fiction:

Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs - This has to be the best marriage book I have read. It's been called revolutionary and I tend to agree. So many marriage books focus on loving your spouse but this book pulls another ingredient into the equation - respect. The author explores the biblical mandate for husbands to love their wives and wives to respect their husbands. Since I think mostly wives/women read this I'd really recommend everyone read it. Not that the part for husbands isn't helpful but the part directed at wives was just amazing. There were things I never realized could come across as disrespectful to Graham. I learned so much and am now putting it into practice. If anyone would like to borrow it, let me know. Graham's currently reading it but when he is done I'll gladly pay shipping it to you if you'll pay to ship it back to me.

Fiction:
The O'Malley Series by Dee Henderson - A series of 6 books about 7 adopted siblings. The youngest sister comes to Christ while faced with a life threatening illness. Each book is the story of one of her siblings dangerous career (hostage negotiator, US Marshal, Forensic Investigator, Firefighter, Trauma Psychologist, Paramedic) while finding Christ and love. These books are not your typical Christian romance. The stories are so nicely intertwined and each has a mystery but lots of humor at the same time.

I have enjoyed that book series by Dee Henderson. And, I'll have to check out your first recommendation.

Did you guys just go on vacation or something?

I can second the recommendation for the marriage book. We are still reading it but have learned a lot.

Liz,

No, I just get a lot of reading done during Greta's feeding and nap times. We will be going to St Simons Island the first week of April for a long weekend.
