We've finally picked out a color for the nursery. I know pregnant women are advised to avoid paint fumes during the first trimeseter but what about later in pregnancy? I actually enjoy painting and wouldn't mind helping but if I need to be a slacker and let Graham do it all I can. :-)

Ben didn't want me to paint the first time around either. I did end up helping though -- took plenty of breaks and kept the windows open in the room.
This time, I've painted a bathroom and Lydia's new room while in the middle of the second trimester. (Ben HATES to paint and he readily admits it!)
I think some of those warnings you read about are directed at people who might actually work in such an industry... you know like hair stylists (getting your hair colored), nail salons, paint fumes etc... A few hours of exposure to those fumes is probably nothing to worry about. That is my two cents anyway!
Most neuro issues are in the first trimester so that is probably why you should avoid crazy fumes then. I think you have common sense, Kelley. :-)
I painted Emma's room with Mom three weeks before she came..I didn't have any issues, and was trying to get her to come sooner for my efforts. Didn't work, but her room looks a lot cuter!
Well Graham went ahead and painted it all by himself. I'm rather glad he did as everytime I went into the room the paint fumes gave me a headache. Next on the list - set up the crib, purchase dresser, finish dresser.
What color did you choose?
